# Cookies Policy

This document informs users about the technologies used by the website of **La COOP and OPCO Notaires Inc.** (hereafter “the Site”) to achieve the purposes described below. For simplicity, all such technologies are referred to as **“Trackers”** in this document unless a distinction is required.

- Trackers managed directly by La COOP and OPCO Notaires Inc. (“first-party cookies”);

The lifespan and expiration of Cookies and other Trackers vary depending on the type of Tracker and the settings defined either by the provider or by **La COOP and OPCO Notaires Inc.** Some Trackers expire at the end of the user’s browsing session.

**Trackers strictly necessary for the functioning of the Site**

The Site uses “technical” Cookies and other essential Trackers to ensure secure and proper operation.

**Interactions and basic features**

The Site uses certain Trackers to enable essential interactions, provide access to specific features, or facilitate communication with **La COOP and OPCO Notaires Inc.**

**Forms and communications**

Trackers may be used to support or improve the submission of forms or communication between the user and the Site.

**Audience measurement and Site improvement**

**Note:** Advertising tools used on the Site comply with Quebec privacy laws (Loi 25) and relevant consent frameworks.  
No references to American standards such as the CCPA apply.

Users can configure their browser to block Cookies, delete existing Cookies, or limit their use.

**Third-party Trackers**

For Trackers managed by third parties, users must consult the privacy policies of the respective providers to exercise their rights or withdraw consent.

**Definitions**

**Personal data**

Any information that identifies or may identify an individual directly or indirectly.

**Usage data**

Information automatically collected through the Site (e.g., IP address, browser characteristics, length of visit, pages viewed).

**User**

Any person who visits or uses the Site.

**Data controller**

**La COOP and OPCO Notaires Inc.**, who determine the purposes and means of processing personal information collected through the Site, in accordance with Quebec’s Law 25.

**Processor**

Any person or organization that processes data on behalf of the Data Controller (e.g., hosting provider, analytics service).

**Cookie**

A small text file stored in the user’s browser for various purposes (functionality, measurement, preferences, advertising).

**Trackers**

Any technology that enables tracking or analyzing user behavior (cookies, scripts, tags, unique identifiers, etc.).

**Legal information**

This policy was drafted in accordance with Quebec laws, including **Law 25 on the protection of personal information**, and follows recognized international best practices in data protection.
